Places around Tampico and Veracruz. Not Cancun of course. I'm a border guy that's why I ask.

  1. The coast north of Tampico is unsuitable beach and mostly oil wells. South of Tuxpan is lovely beach called the Emerald Coast area...but is mostly undeveloped...no big hotels, etc., just a few small charming ones.  The City of Veracruz is a great tourist destination, as well as the whole state...though tourism is not a huget hing here, it is growing.

  2. The answer is yes,but that certainly doesn't mean that there are not many places worth visiting and plenty of things to see and do.Because it is not a heavily touristed area, any Spanish language skills you have will be helpful.
