Is the economic foundation of South Carolina now really prisons ?

I know their textile industry crashed in the mid 90's . What state is worse Indiana or Texas ?

SC actually has a growing manufacturing sector.  Just down the street from me are a number of plants producing fans, bearings for car front ends, diesel fuel injectors, steam system components, Bose Wave Radios to name a few.

Textiles took a hit, but there are still a number of textile plants in opperation.  

The answer to your question is NO.

I doubt it although it is the foundation for the towns near the prisons.
