  1. As long as liberals are in power up there, the New England economy will be taxed and regulated into oblivion.  Also, thanks to liberal social programs, the productive, talented people will move elsewhere.  If you want to live in the Northeast, live in New Hampshire.  The blossoming Free State Project will make that state the most productive state in the region, before too long.

Days like this, I hate Yahoo Answers.  Why would anyone give me and Gaby thumbs down for what we said? Can some people just not handle hearing anything negative about their party, regardless of how true it is?

  2. I agree with Daniel. In order to have jobs, you must be competitive with other areas / countries / etc.

The Northeast had a great booming industrial advantage, but lost it all due to the unions and other liberal / socialist policies that are unable to be flexible and compete during tougher times. Now you have high taxes and fewer jobs. All the factories have moved to the southern U.S., and overseas.

It would be great if everyone could make a wonderful wage and get all the benefits we like, and still compete. It just doesn't always work that way. If your competition sells it cheaper, then people will buy there.
