  1. not at all!

sweeden has an EXCELLENT education system.

    americas is like the worst.

  2. Did you mean does america have a bad education.

  3. I guess it just depends on the school the person attends...but i also heard that america does not challenge one like other schools..e.g Russia

  4. In general, no.  American students consistently score among the lowest in the OECD when it comes to math and science.  In other countries, especially in Europe, students start learning a second language in elementary school, and they actually progress in it.  If you take the Abitur in Germany, which is needed to go to a university, you need to be proficient in two foreign languages.  Part of the difference is probably the expectation that you have to study every night, which is not always the case in the US.  Another thing is that there are standardized exams that you have to take to graduate high school (at least if you're on the university track.)  This makes sure that students across the country are getting a uniform education.

  5. Don't know who the h**l told that uk education is the best i dont think it has been for a long, long time. but its such a subjective topic - what is a good education? does it involve all the social aspects aswell or you talking purely academic?

The UK and the USA score lowest on numerous counts of child wellbeing compared to other OECD countries such as Scandinavia, Spain, France etc including education. I think at the moment the US and UK do not have a good education system, as businesses are being brought into schools etc. Scandinavia are the leading countries.

  6. IF you have the money then its amazingly good, thought i wouldnt say its the best!

I live in Cambridge UK and ....well the unis here completely dominate and own the city! same with Oxford!  Most of the greatest scientific breakthroughts have been made here and some of the greatest minds too!

  7. no.  the NEA and PTA are promoting a system of education that focuses on the "affective domain" and emphasizes "feelings, emotions, attitudes and values".  China and India are still utilizing the cognitive domain theory and emphesize logic, reason, and fundamentals.

They are flying past Americans, and Chinese kids are taking Calculus while our kids are scratching their heads with algebra, and taking three study halls, two band classes, commercial art, and humanities.

  8. The general standard is not as high as Europe and several other distinct countries including Cuba and Iran.

America does have problems that other societies do not have however.  There are sizable areas where English is not the first language and multiculturalism is a 'given' in the US.

There is also an in-built insularity about American culture that results in a level of geographical ignorance that would be entirely unacceptable in Europe...is not seen as a problem in the US.

Not knowing where Greece is...is not unusual in America.

  9. the UK is by far the best - recognised all over the world including cuba
