I am going to Australia and I need to charge my cell phone, and the connectors are not the same as here in North America.

  1. They use 240V, 50Hz.WalMart, Target, other places have small transformers if your charger requires 120V (most are universal), or just an  adapter to plug in if universal. Look over by the suitcases in the travel section. Many Aussie and European bathrooms have  120VAC converters for small US equipment.

BTW, most US cell phones don't work down under. My Blackberry did tho. I think they use the same systems as T-mobile and Cingular/ATT.

  2. The voltage in Australia is 220 V, in contrast to the 120 V in the US. Many cell phone chargers are universal-voltage, so that may not be a problem. (You should check the manual.) However, you will need a plug adaptor, which you can get in any good hardware or electrical service store.
