Question:

Is the epiphone sg special a good beginner guitar?

i like the epiphone sg special pack, i have played an acoustic for a month or two, but all the songs i want to learn are on electric, and i like humbuckers, thats why im not going with fender. so is this a good guitar.

  1. I've played the sg and honestly the epiphone les paul is much better if you dont mind a few extra pounds i play my epiphone les paul more than my more expensive deans and fenders the humbuckers are great but as long as u stay away from that horrible fender squier c**p you will be fine

To be brutally honest, most player's packs that come with a guitar, amp, and other accessories are always a good beginner's guitar.  They may not have the quality of a more expensive guitar, however you get everything you need for a lowered price.  For example, I saw a les paul for the same price as it would be when the same les paul was in a beginner's package.  If you do get one of these starters though, you will need to replace the strap and the cable, because these are very cheap components.  Within the first month or so, the cable and strap on my bass broke.  After you replace these, you're in good shape.

  4. dude i got this guitar as a gift and i'm at an immediate level

    i had a fender strat

    and i play this sg way more then i do the fender

    the guitar is soo versatile plays any style well

    you will honestly love this guitar

    and the black one looks better then the red lol
