Is the extra 5 yrs of probation legal?

An inmate was sentenced to 10 yrs DOC + 10 yrs probation for a 2nd degree felony punishable up to 15 yrs DOC.

they can only max out what there sentance is . so if they got ten years in the clink and ten years parole.  at the end of the parole its  all finished . but with good behavior they might be released from parole early.  but will have a record the rest of there life.

Yes, actually in Michigan, they have lifetime probation!
