  1. Just more bushit, no more, no less.

  2. no - its not even close.

  3. No relation at all.

  4. The problems between Russia and Georgia have been festering for quite a while, and the history of these two previous Soviet Republics is long and complicated.  While our Secretary of State, Rice, is an expert on Soviet relations, this outdated knowledge is not producing the results in diplomacy that are required.  Russia is attempting to tell the world that it is not the weak country that emerged from the Soviet Union by exerting force in the former satellites.  The U.S. has been a close Georgia ally during the recent crisis, but this is a fine line we tread with the possible reigniting of the Cold War.  The Bush administration has tried to generate acceptance of Georgia in NATO, which would protect the nation from a strike from Russia.  Unfortunately, with the U.S. bogged down in Iraq, our ability to come to Georgia's aid would be extremely limited, and NATO is itself trying to cope with lack of troops in Afghanistan.  This situation is a far cry from Bush peering into Putin's eyes and seeing his soul.  Bad judgment from our president once again.

  5. Not even closely related.

  6. No. It is not related.

Also, it does not only "seem" important to him - it is important.  Russia's aim is to destabilize and  drive up oil prices which hurts the U.S. domestically and in the war on terror and at the same time drive up Russia's oil profits.

Also, the Soviet Union collapsed.  Therefore, it is not "Soviet Georgia".

I think "Bush's fear" of "Georgia slipping away from democracy" is that democratic countries are the only hope for a safe and prosperous planet.
