I'm assuming that the sperm wasnt present when the egg dropped and lets say the sperm didnt "show up" until more than 12 hours later..

  1. Yes.  I have extremely painful ovulations, and I know exactly when I ovulated with baby #2, and there was no babymaking for at least 12-18 hours after I ovulated.

  2. the egg can live for up to 12/24 hours and it can take sperm a matter of hours to reach the egg, so if you have released the egg there is still a chance to get pregnant

  3. the egg can live for 24 hours after it is released from the ovary. sperm can live for 3-5 days after being deposited, so to speak. that's why they say the best chance for concieving is having s*x the day before you actually ovulate. this allows sperm to be waiting on the egg. but there is still a chance, any little disruption in your body can release the egg early or late.

  4. yeah i think its about 3 days.. sperm can live that long and travel up.. if you know what i mean.. hard one to explain
