Nope.

Liberal feminists believe in that good old fashioned idea of liberalism - or human rights for all.  

Socialist feminists, like other socialists, also take into account de-facto inequalities in society that it would be of benefit for society to solve.  If you live in a western country, you are pretty much guaranteed to have some socialist policies in place in your government - such as welfare, pensions, minimum healthcare, etc etc.  It is not that this makes things unequal, but more equal, on a basic level.

Either way, the definition of equality is the same as other comparable theories  :-)

The "feminist" definition of equal is the same as that of all other groups that advocate SOCIAL EQUALITY, and it's the same for all those who BELIEVE in social equality. There are a few very confused individuals who seem to think that "equal," in this context, means mathematically equal...as if ANY two individuals could be equal, in this sense. I can only assume that these people are incapable of abstract thought, much like young children, as the "mathematical" kind of  "equal" is a very concrete concept, whereas "social equality" is much more abstract. There are some people who never mature beyond the "concrete" stage of thinking, and thus remain intellectually immature. What are ya gonna do?

For the record, (for those "concrete thinkers" among you) social equality is defined as the idea that all individuals, regardless of race, gender, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, OR disability, are deserving of equal opportunity, equal rights, and equal consideration...as in "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men (humans) are created equal."

Yes the feminist definition of equality is equality of outcome however for most people true equality is equality of opportunity.

Essentially if women make up less than 50 % of any given occupation they view the practices used for hiring people for that occupation to be sexist and lobby for quotas.

However things don't seem to work the other way around as if women make up the majority they see no need for male quotas.

I personally believe the world would be better of without so called "positive discrimination".

How many more guys are going to post that women are weaker and inferior to men? Is it too much to ask to be seen as equal? It seems this fantasy about feminism wanting superiour rights for women is just another sad attempt by men to keep women under their thumbs. Women are humans. Period. Get used to it or step aside.

Yes. Most fair minded people realise that women should have equal opportunities to men; most logical people understand that women are different to men so will never be represented equally across all fields.

According to feminist "logic" it is discrimination that more than 50% of engineers are male.

Strangely, it's not discrimination that more than 50% of nurses are female.

So feminists not only want equal opportunity, they demand equal outcome. (and only when it suits them)

I object to your fantasy. Feminists want special treatment for women. Feminists want equal outcome, not equal opportunity and those equal outcomes only flow one way, in women's favor. If women dominate in any given area, feminists aren't interested in equalling anything out.

Let's take one example, Violence Against Women Act. Now, why would feminists support this? Is there a Violence Against Men Act that feminists were trying to counter-balance? No, then you see my point and that is just one example. If we were to get into Family Court biases...well...Yahoo probably doesn't have the server space.

The Feminist definition of "equal" is relegation of men by any means necessary.  This definition is inconsistent with any other I've come across from any bona fide dictionary or any normal human being.

Yes. Because feminist's "equal" is "women are superior" not equal.

They use doublespeak and parrot the word equality without

having any intent of honoring it.  For example, when a woman is raped it's not her fault.  But when a man is raped, or otherwise abused in court (per feminist laws) it's his fault for "not complaining."

Fairness and equality only exist in their universe for them.
