  1. The Field Sobriety Test is admissible evidence in the United States.  Whereas an FST would give an officer probable cause that the suspect is indeed intoxicated, the officer can establish probable cause based on other factors to arrest you if you didn't consent to the testing.  

    However, I don't know about South Africa...sorry


  2. I certainly hope so.  It's the best way to get drunk drivers off the road.
