Microsoft’s Kinect Star Wars was up against it in the UK software sales charts with no less than six EA titles, but did it have enough to claim the top spot for its own?
Another week has passed everyone by and judging by the sales charts it seems a lot of gamers in the United Kingdom have been spending their money making Electronic Arts a very rich company indeed, though Microsoft may just have carved out a chunk of the
weekly revenue pie for itself.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still holding on to place in the top ten as it comes in tenth in terms of sales in the United Kingdom for the past week, which is quite an achievement for an action RPG that has been in the market as long as it has.
Battlefield 3 was the lowest selling EA game in the top ten for last week as it secured a ninth place finish for itself with Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games finishing one place above the modern military first-person shooter in eighth.
SSX may have been at the top of the charts not so long ago yet now it finds itself in the bottom half of the table one place below Activision’s bestselling video game of all time, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Teeing off with the top five now as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 is the third EA title in the charts as fans of the golf simulation game cannot seem to get enough of the series latest iteration.
FIFA 12 continues to be a consistent form of revenue for EA as does Mass Effect 3 with both games finishing fourth and fifth respectively in the charts.
FIFA Street finally had to surrender its crown and could only manage a second placed finish in the charts as Kinect Star Wars stormed its way to the top spot. The force is definitely strong with the Kinect exclusive title yet one will have to wait and see
how long the game can avoid slipping to the dark side.
The dark side of course being outside of the top ten spots.
