We had a power outage for probably around 5 to 7 hours, I'm not sure I was sleeping when it happened. Anyway, are the fruits and veggies in our fridge spoiled? We had things like cantaloupe, bananas, celery, carrots, etc...

  1. If the fridge was closed the entire time, and it still feels cold when you opened it, then everything inside should be fine.  The fridge is insulated enough that it will have kept the cold inside it.

  2. First of all, bananas should never, ever go in the fridge.  It make them spoil.

5 to 7 hours is just fine.  But I'm guessing your ice cream is a puddle and probably should go in the trash.

If the door was kept closed, everything (milk?) should be fine.

  3. some people leave there fruits out on the counter all day and night. unless they've been in there for a really long time they should be fine. i would be more concerned about the milk.
