Is the fuel tank in the 1999 jeep grand cherokee smaller than the one in the 1997?

could somebody tell me please what is the capacity of the fuel tank of the jeep grand cherokee 1999 and 1997? i would really appreciate it.

A 1999 GC had the new 20.5 gallon fuel tank to accommodate the bigger spare tire well.  The 97 GC had the 23 gallon tank due to the spare being carried in an upright configuration.
