  1. you mean career/financially wise? of course, police will always be necessary. just like Dr's, nurses, teachers, firemen/women, military personel....etc


  2. Depends on what cities, some are crazy in florida.

  3. Without a doubt it is.  Law enforcement is an excellent profession, especially in this economy.  

    No matter what the state of the nation, there is always going to be a demand for law enforcement officers.  The jobs can never be outsourced and there is a wide array positions available, may it be actively patrolling the streets or working in the offices.

    Furthermore, the population in Florida is increasing dramatically because of the traditionally "low" cost of living.  With more people, there is a need for more law enforcement officers.

    While it may not directly be relevant to your question, law enforcement experience is an excellent asset in the private sector.  With rare exceptions, the private sector holds individuals with esteemed law enforcement backgrounds in very high regard.
