Is the game boy version of Kingdom of Hearts the same as playstation's?

When will Chain of memories come out on Playstation in the U.S.?

The Gameboy version is called Chain of Memories. Its after KH1 but before KH2. Chain of Memories on PS2 is out but in Japanese version. We are not sure whether it will be out in US but it has been a long time since the outcoming of the j*p version.
