  1. No it is not the same. The gas used in houses is Methane gas which is a natural gas found underground. In its natural state there is no smell to it, but a smell is added to it for safety reasons.Bottled gases are either Butane or Propane and are pressurised gases.

  2. No, the one used in most household is natural gas unless you live in the country then it's propane which is the same as the gas used for gas grills, and is the same gas in those little bottles that are under pressure made for camping.

  3. Bottled gas is usually Butane gas

Butane gas is sold bottled as a fuel for cooking and camping. When blended with propane and other hydrocarbons, it is referred to commercially as LPG. It is also used as a petrol component, as a feedstock for the production of base petrochemicals in steam cracking, as fuel for cigarette lighters and as a propellant in aerosol sprays such as deodorants.

Propane Gas: Bottled and sold as a fuel, it is commonly known as liquified petroleum gas (LPG or LP-gas), which can be a mixture of propane along with small amounts of propylene, butane, and butylene.

Natural gas (which is pumped to households) is a gaseous fossil fuel consisting primarily of methane but including significant quantities of ethane, propane, butane, and pentane—heavier hydrocarbons removed prior to use as a consumer fuel —as well as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, helium and hydrogen sulfide.

  4. No its not - Gas in bottles is LPG or liquid petroleum gas.  Its usually either Propane - in red bottles - or Butane - in blue bottles. They are by-products of oil refining. These gases can be turned into a liquid simply by compressing them.  The household gas is natural gas and is a mixture of various gases including methane.  If you want to liquify this, it has to be very cold.

  5. no, it's not the same

Gas in bottles is gasoline, in liquid form, and can be used for things that need a liquid fuel (and can use gas).

Gas used in housholds is natural gas or propane, and is just that -- a gas. It can be used for heating, cooking, etc.

I would think you want to bring gasoline with you on your camping trip for things like lanterns, etc.

-----If you plan on grilling, then you would need a gas grill and some form or propane or natural gas.

Good Luck! and I hope this helps you! :-)
