Is the general anethesia they use at an oral surgeons the same kind a hospital uses?

  1. I'm not sure what oral surgeons are using these days.

    I DO know that the oral surgeon usually administers the anesthetic AND does the procedure, which is something that is not seen as safe by the American Society of Anesthesiologists.  I don't think they use the standard minimal monitoring that we use either.

    They typically have young, healthy patients, which are pretty hard to kill, though, and they tend to be lucky.

    Scares me, though.
