  1. No because some one will finally foul it up and probably kill the planet.

  2. Well at the moment, some of the genetically modified products arnt real good. But in the future genetic products will definetly be the answer. Plants can be modified so that the dont need water to grow, or the dont need sunlight.

Like in australia, drought. Genetics may soon be the key to make more crops grow

  3. Perhaps this page called " Bacterium In A Jar Paradigm" might help you to think further then humanity, there are much more reasons out there, read it @ http://www.freeuknetwork.co.uk/Thoughts1...

I have since look at things differently, even wrote a page called "Are we turning the world up side down?"

And have since got lot more questions then I care to look further.

  4. Some has been. We now have wheat crops which can grow in colder climes, and with better yeilds, Other crops have been made disease resistant and also to give better yields.

  5. The answer is - some are of benefit and some are not.  Tomatoes have been genetically modified to extend their shelf life, this cuts wasteage and helps increase the useful revenue generated for the farmer.  GM potatoes are more resistant to blight and aphid attack, again increasing yields and reducing wastage.   Some GM rice has a much higher vitamin content that natural rice.  This can help improve nutrition of poor communities, particularly in SE Asia.  It can even be argued that herbicide resistant varieties reduce the quantity of weedkiller used on a crop, reducing costs and risks for the farmer and the consumer.
