Is the global warming a real thing? or why some people say is a myth?

I am afraid of that.. my country is having a hot time.. a very hot night is now!! the heat is very powerful now.. I remember never had something like this

This is a difficult question to answer. I know that there are claims that man is causing irreperable damage to the environment by buring fossil fuels. Yet there is evidence that the Mt. St. Helens eruption threw more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than man has through the burning of fossil fuels since man's arrival on earth.

Keep in mind that this planet has historically been a temperate planet, with the exception of the occasional ice age. Maybe the earth is reverting into one of its more temperate ages.

Now I know its a sad time, I live in Canada so I don't see a heat change yet...Other than a few crappy winters, but this winter was horrid, we had a late spring and blizzerds constanltly!

But seriously, I am an environmentalist, and care about and work to protect the environment! but just typing this put pain in my heart, What ever happened to carrages and TPs they certainly didn't cut down soooo many trees,

Global warming IS real! and we need to stop with all of these greenhouse gas emisions before its too late, and I have a hard time too, with the whole "Global warming is caused by pullution from people!"

And people say its a myth because they are either lazy or scared, or they just dont believe it, and you cant force people to change but you can try, because I dont want our planet to go to waste!

Absolutely it is real.  The earth goes through warming trends and cooling trends every 20-40 years.  We are in a warming trend now and some people are trying to scare people into believeing everything that they say.  If you were alive in the 80's you will remember the scientists telling us that we had better prepare for another Ice Age because of the hole in the ozone.

Global warming is a phrase coined to terrify people. Right now the earth is becoming warmer yes, but this has happened before for millions of years. Both sides of the argument have data to say that they are right but the effects that people have been experiencing world wide don't lie.  If you are concerned about it then take action become a part of the solution. Do what you can to conserve what we have and help others to understand the importance of conservation and preservation.

Unfortunatly, it most likely is real. The reason people say it's a myth is because if you look at our planet historically, it has gone through periods of heating and cooling. But given the facts we've been presented in the last decade it seems that the heating is more intense than in the past. Also the extreme changes in weather patterns suggest more than just a periodic heating, but more of a drastic change in the global climate.

Global warming is not a hoax at all. It's the government and media that lead us to belive it is. Why do you think the polar bear aren't on the endanrged lis? the thing is people are trying to make change because we need it. It's hurdles like the media preventing that.The media has a very unique way of showing whats important the people watching. For some reason they do not show the importance of global warming. Why do you think they say climate change  instead of global warming? What country do you live in?  From what I can gather, global warming itself is real, but the cause is controversial.  Some people think it is man made and some think it is just a cycle of mother nature.  I'm not sure which one it is, but I believe it is real.

1. over the years, as long as we've recorded weather and had access to geological information on weather, we've been predicting ice ages and global warming.

2. The globe has trended fractions of degrees warmer in the last 200 years.

3. currently there is now a prediction of a 10-15 year cooling trend, that will then resume and trend warmer again.

Bottomline these guys dont know what effect humans are having on the environment. Its doubtful even with the economy shattering protocols that we can slow or even change the process. Its even more doubtful to expect china, india and the third world countries to give up peteroleum.

Myth or real? Hmm Depends on who you ask. If you ask this person, we are all doomed to heck for what man has been doing. If you ask another, they will tell you nothing is wrong. My opinion is , the earth does rotate on an axis, but it also wobbles. So with that in mind , the weather throughout the world will continue to change no matter what we humans do. Well we really are not sure to tell you the truth. The earth does go threw warming and cooling phases. There is a book out about the last Ice Age, called "The Little Ice Age" It was around the 1600's or 1700's. The earth will go for a while and get warm, then it will shift and begin to get colder. That is a fact. What we can't seem to nail down is if what we are going through now is something like that or global warming due to humans. I am willing to bet that the truth is that about 50% of what's going on now is human related and about 50% just nature acting as it has always done. The sad thing is we may not know the real answer until it's to late. Eather way the earth is getting warmer.

in fact, it's already happening now- causing the sea levels to rise and the temperature getting warmer

according to what i know, global warming is caused by the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere as a result of the energy we use, the transport we take and the waste we dispose of in a year.

Well people seem to disagree on the cause. The truth is humans are helping to destroy the environment.Destroying the ozone isn't a natural occurrence. Humans are destroying that along with numerous ecosystems.The earth is going to change no matter what. But with humans destroying the systems used to regulate change.The earth pretty much can heal itself through these ecosystems.Restoring plant life,wildlife,etc.If these systems continue to get destroyed then the earth has no way of regulating these changes like with the ice age.

Global Warming is just a form of Climate Change. It is true that the global temperature is warming but the earth has warmed up and cooled down at a radical rate throughout the history of the earth. It has gone from a smoldering rock to a snowball earth. It has only been a small period of time in which the Earth's climate has been stable.

The global temperature is rising but I dont think humans are doing all the damage. People claim it is the cars and the cows but then how come the Earth has heated up worse before when there was no cars or ranching?
