  1. Hardly. Food that is being stored is to maintain farm prices.


  2. Yes and No the United Nations has just opened the Svalbard Global Seed Vault also known as the Doomsday Vault where they are storing seed from every known food crop in the world just in case of severe climate change or nuclear war.
