  1. Yes I did a report on Global Warming for one of my college geology classes about three years ago.  I researched data released by the EPA, scientists, and peer reviewed geologic journals.  What I found was that the EPAs test results were alway much more conservative than the actual data released by the people actually collecting it.  Basically it seemed like they took every number released and then divided it by two.  However, the science in this area very new.  Atmospheric data has been collected for many years but we have until recently had a very limited database to compare it to.  New polar ice core drilling has provided us with a wealth of data on the atmospheric conditions of the past.  Also the general public does not really understand the age of the earth.  Sure we are taught that the earth is 4.6 billion years but religion gives us an entirely different number.  What I am trying to prove is that the science on global warming is mired in not only economic but also religious debate.  Until people realize that God created the earth on the second day.  So on the first day there was just a sun no earth so the earth could not rotate to give us our human day.  Who are we to say the first day was an earthly day.  And how long is a day for God really?  Anyways enough rambling.  Oh yeah and the most important animal on the earth is Plankton they give us 75% of the oxygen we breathe and 100% of the oil we use.  Pretty good for a meek little animal.

  2. According to the scientist himself, it is not government but NASA who is doing the censorship:

NASA refused to release the results.  Miskolczi believes their motivation is simple.  "Money", he tells DailyTech.  Research that contradicts the view of an impending crisis jeopardizes funding, not only for his own atmosphere-monitoring project, but all climate-change research.  Currently, funding for climate research tops $5 billion per year.

Miskolczi resigned in protest, stating in his resignation letter, "Unfortunately my working relationship with my NASA supervisors eroded to a level that I am not able to tolerate.  My idea of the freedom of science cannot coexist with the recent NASA practice of handling new climate change related scientific results."

  3. YES

The government is basically a bunch of greed based people with ties to greed based businesses..

they dont want YOU to save money by going green - if you save money you might actually work less... and pay less taxes!!!

  4. WHAT SCIENCE????

Every single study says words like, "Believe, Hypothesize, Attribute," but ABSOLUTELY NO DIRECT EVIDENCE except for conjecture, misrepresentation and FEAR!

The words describing Bush are exactly the same words that should be applied to GORE!  HE WILL NOT DEBATE ANYONE OVER THE ISSUE because EVEN HE KNOWS THAT IT IS FULL OF c**p!!!!

DENMARK IS MUCH SMARTER THAN US TOUTING GORE AS A HOT AIR HOAX MONGER....

READ FOR YOURSELF!!!!  Tell me that country is not liberal as anything!  LOL

  5. I have to laugh at all the people who believe Jimmy Hansen was 'muzzled' even though this claim was made only before Presidential elections and he got more face time on the news.  If he was being 'muzzled', how would he ba able to get his story out, and why is he still working for the gvmt?

The truth is that there are scientist who are being silenced everyday to prevent science from reaching the public.  Another good example is Dr. Bill Gray who found his research money dry up because he doesn't believe the AGW scam.

"Much of his government funding has dried up. He has had to put his own money, more than $100,000, into keeping his research going. "

"I am of the opinion that this is one of the greatest hoaxes ever perpetrated on the American people,"

Gray believes in the obs. The observations. Direct measurements. Numerical models can't be trusted. Equation pushers with fancy computers aren't the equals of scientists who fly into hurricanes.

"Few people know what I know. I've been in the tropics, I've flown in airplanes into storms. I've done studies of convection, cloud clusters and how the moist process works. I don't think anybody in the world understands how the atmosphere functions better than me."

In just three, five, maybe eight years, he says, the world will begin to cool again.

  6. Not much any more.  The Bush Administration did censor reports from groups of scientists at EPA, NASA, and CDC in the past, but they've pretty much stopped, since Bush now admits the reality of global warming,

Miskolczi is a really simple story.  He had an idea, couldn't prove it, and refused to move on scientifically, so he resigned and moved on to where people liked his ideas better.

The fact that one guy with an idea he can't prove, not getting other scientists to go along with him, is hardly proof of "silencing science".  The cases where the Bush Administration political officials, provably censored official reports that had been developed and vetted by large groups of NASA, EPA, and CDC scientists, is much clearer.

  7. Oh yes, and not just global warming, also stem cell research, family planning, and modern biology and geology.  All political payoffs to his supporters.  Obviously it's related to my response on this

  8. yes the bush admin has censored scientists but is that relay surprising coming from an oil man?

  9. In science these days, if you build a better mouse trap, you'll be ostracized, especially if you disagree with a basic "fact" of the AGW hypothesis.

Dr. Zagoni's credentials are impressive, yet when he supports the new calculations, published in a peer reviewed European scientific journal, he is turned on like some pariah.  One "top contributor" here actually addressed Dr. Zagoni as "some guy", in an effort to cast disrespect on his decades of study.  He only demonstrated his own ignorance, and lack of respected for any professional designations, including his own (if any).

So what does this boil down to, an unbending astrophysicist, who's model as been less that accurate and a quantum physicist who had the gall to say a different calculation fits the observations better. Politics wins, for now.

I think we are in the dark ages again.

  10. I thought it was "big oil"?

    Now it's government too?

  11. This administration has been trying (and in many cases succeeding) to silence science in many areas - medicine, environment, biology, and more.

  12. Yes. The reason?

Global Warming is caused by chloroflourocarbons produced by companies, cars, fridges and air conditioners etc. These things bring everyday happines to ordinary people. But these things bring money, a lot of money, to the government. Buildings that destroy trees. Too many oil companies. And so on and so forth. So if the scientists do more cautions to really stop global warming, they have to beat these government officials that earn BIG money first. So, if they were beaten, they would lose money and convenience. So thats why theyre trying to stop (or silence, as you say) scientists to learn more and convince the people that change is a must right away.

  13. Absolutely! Big money is in Big Energy. And this country only cares about making money.

  14. No, they already tried that (see Hansen).

You're suggesting that the same government which tried to suppress pro-AGW research is now trying to suppress anti-AGW research?  That's kind of a joke of an argument.

Fact is that Zagoni is simply wrong.  If he had a valid argument, he would have no problem getting it published in a peer-reviewed journal, and NASA couldn't stop him.

See gcnp58's answer to the question below for a possible explanation as to the error in Zagoni's calculation.
