It sounds true to me. A spirit possesses the house and various supernatural experiences take place an different owners of the house, unaware of the horrible events that have taken place.  The terrifying invisible Ju-On is nesting in the bowls of the house and it will not let anything or anyone invade it's domain and no one is safe from its evil intent.  There has been documented happenings in the U.S. so I believe it can happen in Japan as well.
