  1. I have an Ovo setup too (pic in my blog below). I have mixed feelings about them. They do look really cool, but they are not real spacious and the main modules has a lot of parts to it that fall off sometimes. They don't fall off enough for the hamster to escape, but it is still quite annoying. As cages go, the Ovo is a little pricey too.

I kept three Winter White hamsters in my Ovo setup for a while without problems, but mostly because I took out the oversized wheel and superfluous "stair case" thingie. The main unit is kinda cramped. Adding a maze module will definitely help...the maze gives the hamsters the illusion of much more space because they can crawl around in it like a burrow.

I prefer the crittertrail "Home Outlook" tub-type cages ( - http://www.amazon.com/CritterTrail-Home-... - ). They aren't as flashy as the Ovo, but are more secure, a lot easier to clean, and have a lot more space. They also allow for tube expansions just like the Ovo. These are about $30. Connecting one of these to your Ovo habitat would probably solve any space issues.

Ovo modules make awesome dust baths too, and I use one as a food "pantry" in my setup as well. Which is great for keeping the mess down. I would recommend buying Ovo modules to add on to other cage systems even if you dont own an Ovo cage. They do have some cool stuff.

Ovo tubes are compatible with Crittertrail tubes btw.

  2. I have the Habitrail ovo Suite, the habitrail adventure pack, the Habitrail Den and the habitrail lookout for my 3 fancy mice that are the size of my pinky finger (about the same size of dwarf hamsters) and they love it! There's tons of space if you buy the ovo suite and the adventure pack which is about $45 but it is worth it because my mice love it in there. There might not be space for toys but I take them out often and put them in their play pen with the toys so it would be no problem.

  3. The size is fine for dwarfs, but handle them fifteen minutes a day each and put them in the right sized exercise ball for fifteen minutes a day each. You can, of course, add things whenever you want- that's the fun with the Habitrail.

  4. As long as you get your hamsters out daily I see no problem.

  5. get all the attatchments for it- its too small by itself and the dwarfs like the excersize.
