yes, you get more channels (most radio channels have "hidden" HD channels with different content that a regular radio cant pick up), you don't have to pay (like XM/Sirius) and the sound quality is close to CD quality (you will hear a big difference)

HD radio makes the sound quality better. It's more surround and better listening than anything. Better bass, treble, volume, clarity, and just makes the listening more enjoyable. I personally don't think it's worth the money but if you have it, spend it!
