  1. The *total* highest, which includes writing, is 2400 points. NOT 1600; this only includes reading comp and math. The confusion is over whether colleges "count" the writing/essay score. Honestly, I do not count the essay score because many colleges do not (it's too new and they aren't sure if scoring on that section is really accurate). So look at your math and reading scores only if you are going with the 1600 number, and exclude the essay score.

  2. 2400.

There are critical reading, mathematics, and writing sections. Each one is given a score from 200-800 making the lowest possible score a 600 and the highest a 2400.

Most elite schools expect a 2100 or above.

  3. No, the highest you can get is a 1600.

On the new version, with the Writing, the highest is now a 2400. Each section is scaled on a 200-800 point range.

    Hope this helps :)

  4. The highest, including writing, is a 2400, but colleges are more accustomed to the 1600-point scoring method (which includes critical reading and math).

  5. 1600, but I think there might also be a new way of scoring.
