Is the hospital in UK really FREE? Or in Canada?

  1. nope, this is what happens in a communist system. The health care is "free" but in order to get it you have to:

    A: pay thousands extra in taxes

    and

    B: wait several months to a couple years to get care (which doesn't do you any good if you have an emergency).

    C: another option is that you're on welfare, in which case everyone else is paying for you, but you still have to wait, although not as long as the people paying taxes.


  2. No it is not free. We pay for it through our huge rate of taxation.

    That said, the National Health Service in the UK is wonderful. We can walk into any hospital anywhere and get emergency treatment.

    On the downside it can be inefficient and waithing lists for 'non-essential' operations can be long.
