I read this and got a really good laugh. Has feminism taken a step back when issues like this arise?

  1. That article is hilarious! I guess pianos and guitars are misogynist too! Really, it's the ideal that a beautiful women needs long useless fingernails that is the real problem.

And I should point out that I am a feminist with lovely short nails.

  2. Is the choice of every women or men uses the nails in the way they want to, and they must be aware that use long nails imply more difficult for almost every action with hands.

  3. I just logged on to ask the same question! What  joke. This stuff does not surprise me at all. Feminists seem to go around just looking for this stuff.

  4. I would just like to say to those woman:

    Oh boo hoo hoo waaaaaaaa

  5. It could be sexist against men with big fingers.

  6. Of course it's not misogynistic.  I mean seriously, I think it was a little thing they didn't think about.  In today's society, women really should stick to reasonable nails.  There's not much reason to keep them extra long, and it hinders them in many areas, not just iPhones, for Pete's sake.

  7. this has nothing to do with feminism, just silly women with nothing better to argue about.

how do you equate this to feminism? did they quote any? i think not.

edit: i read some of it and it does not equate to feminism. i see the point you're trying to make, but get sick of how anytime a woman gripes about something "it's because of the feminists". as if we're some kind of nasty

    creature that hates everyone.

  8. If women with long nails don't like the iPhone, then they do not have to use it. There are plenty of other competing products available to purchase.

Complaining about a design that you are unable to use because of a CHOICE to wear long nails is just pathetic.

  9. johno beat you to it :-)

why are some of the idiots here associating this with feminism? if anything i'd imagine most feminists have sensible short nails

  10. No.   Neither is any other product that requires short nails.

Why would you suggest that the woman is feminist and that all feminists would support her position?!?    That gave me a really good laugh.

  11. Anyone who equates this "issue" with feminism is a bonehead and proves my point.

ETA:  yes, I know, and I see the humor.  Others don't.

  12. Does the word Plagiarism mean anything to you ;-D

  13. Yes.  Just like Gibson guitars are misogynistic.  How dare they design guitars so that it is impossible for females to play them without chopping off their acrylic fingernails!  Oh, I forgot, Dolly Parton plays hers just fine...

Kidding aside, this is not just a feminists issue.  This is an American culture going down the drain issue!  Americans are growing up thinking that they deserve to have everything and anything they want and if they can't then it is somebody else's fault.  This culture needs to change.  I have 2 little kids and that's where I'm going to start fighting this culture.  My kids will grow up knowing life is not designed to be fair and that they will have to rise to each and every challenge and succeed on their own strength no matter the odds.

  14. I've never looked at it that way. I just know that I don't have tiny fingers and don't like pressing those little buttons so I avoid using text messages as much as possible. Also, at my age, many people have difficulty seeing those tiny letters and numbers. That is not a choice on their part but long fingernails are.
