It is unsafe but VERY funny. A male friend once did it when we were on a Young Farmers weekend in Minehead we recorded him doing it, it went in a big purple flame and all the hairs on his *rse crackled and singed, sooooo funny. can't hardly type this for laughing, ah the memories of youth!! Well, it depends on whose f**t you're igniting. It might be unsafe if you ignite a stranger's without asking him or her. (Don't use a blowtorch.)

If your rear is cold, try thermal underwear.

This would depend on the type of gas produced and what helped to produce it. Again rellevant force and velocity would have to be taken into account as should it be allowed to dilute in the air it will lose some of it's explosive quality.

Heinz baked beans types can be quite frequent but with such small but repetitive eruptions they are hardly likely to put out a flame and less likely to ignite one. For best results try a few beers followed by chicken vindaloo.
