Is the irish family name O'Coleman of royalty?

i am wandering because i am an O'Coleman and i thought i read somewhere that my family was royalty in ireland.

    most likely they were English invaders who had their names celtafied


  2. There were lots of little tribal warlords calling themselves kings back then-basically, some ancestor of mine was king of six acres of pasture, one stream and a few hundred square yards of bog. The way I understand it, the Gaelic words for chieftain, king, and grand poo-bah are identical, so something probably got lost in translation.
