Question:

Is the issue my lashes, or the mascara?

:] Hi everyoneee.

I've been having this problem for a while now;

Whenever i do my eyeliner, preferably liquid and i try too

curl, or lets say put mascara on my lashes, they get all clumpy and gross looking. D:

this never happens too the lashes on my right eye, but

when it comes too the lashes on my left eye everythings a mess.

I do the eyeliner perfectly fine, i don't get it anywhere around my lashes. Even if i try curling them they kinda criss cross each other.

Right now I'm using Cover girl lash exact, and it worked great for the past few days on separating my lashes; But they still bend?

Its actually really annoying, and it doesn't look good at all.

:/ Any suggestions on mascara, or anything that'll prevent this issue?

It makes applying makeup way more difficult than it actually is.

Thank youuu.<3

  1. OK:

Curl your eyelashes with either side of a SPOON. Use the eyelash curler on the lash line close to your eyelid ( to lift them). The spoon will do the rest and curl them so nicely and they will go any way you want them to. It takes a little bit of practice.

I love Lash Exact. If you don't have naturally curly eyelashes you have to use waterproof! When one coat of mascara dries, use the spoon to "shape" or "fix" any eyelash that is not perfectly in place. Don't rub it through all the way (sliding it) , just press lightly.

Let me know if this helps. This makes my eyelashes look so pretty and full and curly and all!!!

  2. use a tad bit of baby powder before you mascara it helps de-clump

  3. I would recommend one that makes them less clumpy. Like Maybelline that Original Pink and green one. Or the Waterproof one that doesn't run AT ALL. Its Pink w/ a black top. If your still undecided, they have this great pack at Sephora.com that comes with 7 mascaras of different brands (they are mini) for about $27.00 there you can wear one at a time and see which one works best. They have smashbox, Sugar, Benefit, Two faced, Tubed lashes, and another one I can't remember. So far, I like the Smashbox and benefit (bad gal) the best

Also, a good tip, is to hold a card against your eye, behind your lashes, (like a credit card or ID) and while your putting mascara, even out your lashes and dont worry about getting it all over the card thats what its for. Then used a q-tip to clean out all imperfections. Let they eyelashes dry out, then curl them. Always have a little sharp object in your make-up bag, like a toothpick to keep the clumps out just in case.

  4. If it happens on one eye and not the other it could be the application. You could try moving your hand differently to see if it helps or you can try using a different type of application brush.

I would suggest getting a good quality self-heating eyelash curler to get perfect lashes before applying mascara. Since you need to curl them and they seem to be difficult this would be the most effective method. They have a wand style heated curler at sephora or a classic shaped curler on victoriassecret.com that you could try.

As for the mascara, I recommend Maybelline mascaras over any other drugstore brand. They do not cause any clumping for me and are also not heavy at all. My favorite is the volum' express turbo boost, 2nd is the colossal and after that great lash.

  5. Try using an eyelash comb such as this one http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productD...

It works great at seperating your lashes,

I use it both before and right after i apply my mascara

Be carefull not to poke yourself in the eye.

P.S. I also use this mascara, it works great
