I'm not looking to make bank, just be gainfully employed, making about 40k, and have a sense of purpose in my job. I know I could check out the stats online, but I would like to hear from real people.

How competitive are MSW programs? What type of GPA do you need? Is it possible to be admitted to a program with no BSW, only a sociology minor and a communication disorders major?

Also, would prior medical experience be any benifit in this field?

  1. you won't make 40 for a very long time, my advice..get into something else because I thought the same thing and learned that I had to work just as hard for any degree, therefore, go with something that can pay the bills.  when you are young, you think you'll have a rich husband and great kids and it's all hunky dory, but life happens honey and people get divorced , sick and the kids steal from them.  It's better to get a stable job where you can move up the ladder.
