Is the lamb meat found in gyros sandwiches fatty?

One of my favorite mediteranian dishes is gyros. Is it really fatty?

    It depends on who makes the gyro, though.

    Yes it's fatty.

  3. Yeah they are awesome!  I think most places make it into like a meatloaf type thing with 'lamb-burger' So you just can't really tell its there but there is a good amount of fat in it.

Hi there, being someone that has worked in Yiros shops ,i can tell you that most if not all lamb Yiros has a verry high fat content, as much and at times more then what you would find in a hamburger ,  there is a way to tell if a yiros has allot of fat before you order it , and that is the colour of the meat on the spit (rotisserie) . the darker the colour is  the more meat and less fat it has in it .
