They are so firmly under the belief that women/minorities need the government to help them succeed.

  1. No, why would we?  From hockey-mom to VP is a compelling story.

Too bad she'll never get to be the VP.  It would have made the TV-movie about her more interesting (and you know, there will be one made about her at some point).

McCain has thumbed his nose at Republicans and conservatives with this pick.  He won't be elected.

  2. Yes!  they favor affirmative action beneficiaries instead!

  3. If you consider using your body and your face as something that is 'merrit' worthy, yes.  Sorry, but being a mayor of a town that is less than 8000 isn't that difficult.  And, she's been governor for just over a year.  She is not even close to being qualified to be president.

And, she's not intelligent.  And any self respecting woman is going to see right through this cynical move on the part of McCain.  I do find it hilarious how much you guys revel in mediocrity though with this pick, LOL.  Geesuz, all you have to do is breathe and cling to your gun rights like they are the only Constitutional right worth fighting for to run for office in Alaska, a state with the population of 600,000 people.  The city of L.A has 10 times that amount.

  4. I'm sure that the fact that she is her own woman and isn't afraid to stand her ground has them trembling in their gucci's; but, that have more to be concerned about as well.  She isn't a Washington insider, she isn't afraid to expose corruption where she sees it, and she truly has blue collar and family value roots ("Her husband, Todd Palin, is part Yup'ik Eskimo, and is a blue-collar North Slope oil worker who competes in the Iron Dog, a 1,900-mile snowmobile race. The couple lives in Wasilla. They have five children, the youngest of whom was born in April with Down syndrome.")

John McCain may have taken a political risk in choosing a relatively unknown as his VP, but I applaud his courage in stepping away from the accepted political formula.

Edit:  Talk about hypocrisy!  So, the Dems want to match "inexperience" - how many days has JUNIOR Senator BHO been on the job?  Bring it on!

    McCain/Palin '08!

  5. They're alarmed she'll get the Hillary voters. I'm alarmed too. I don't meet Granmpa...uh...John McCain's definition of middle class (under $5 million).

  6. They are not under that belief, but they want everyone else to believe that so they can hold their votes hostage by saying the Republicans will take away the government programs, programs which the dems want as many people as possible to be dependant on. Such as welfare, affirmative action, food stamps, etc.

  7. thats bs. i am a woman and i don't need the f*cking gov't to help me succeed any more than a man does. you republicans are against any idea of community and people coming together and helping one another. everyone should "do it their self" and if they can't, it's their own problem.

    typical stupid republicans

  8. Who?

  9. Believe me, the liberal shovels are digging for that answer right now.

  10. what are her merits?  20 months as governor in one of the most uninhabited states that we have or the two terms she spent as city council member of a town with a population of 8,500?????

  11. nope, I'm more alarmed that McCain chose, as a VP, a governor who has been in office less than two years, but is already under investigation for Abuse of Power.

  12. yes, by using her body and face

All intelligent women should look to her as a leader and an example

  13. Women don't need the help of the government when they have the backing of big oil. Don't you believe in the "higher power".

  14. I doubt it.

They will however attempt to make light of the fact that she did while ridiculing her for it and making the accusation that it wasn't enough. I don't think that it's fair to judge her...hardly anyone knows anything about her. Heck, I don't even know that much about her besides what I've read about her today. People just need to give this some time before getting obnoxious about it.

  15. No, indeed her success story is compelling, just like Obama's. We like success rising from adversity.

  16. Cool it.  Michelle Obama already staked out the "I struggled and made it on my own merits with struggling parents".  The parents who sent her to Princeton.

  17. Palin's "...articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking..."

    AND CHANGE NOT another Lawyer!

And if J Biden's so good why the poor showing in the D Primaries?!? Rejected, damaged goods???

  18. I think it's great that she is who she is, and smart as a whip. How awesome!

  19. Oh come on. She's the "token female candidate".

  20. her husband is an Oil Man... wtf do you mean on her own merits?

  21. No, and there is no proof that affirmative action didn't help her.  The biggest recipients of AA are white women.

  22. Really?  I'm on the left, a woman, and got to where I am w/out help from the gov...... If she got to where she is on her own merits, more power to her.  Still not voting for Mccain though.

    ps;

to 'did you get that memo'

do you know how much one semester at Princeton costs?

  23. Seems she's under investigation what a great choice, we're going to make a lot of hay with this one LOL
