Is the legal driving age in california 18?

Question

I know that you used to get your permit at age 15 and a half and your license at 16 if you pass. Is it true that in california they now changed the legal driving age to 18. and If so, does anyone know the cut off of the year you were born? Hope this makes sense!! Thanks sooo much!

You can drive at 16 with your license but cannot have friends in the car with you unless you are 18 or one friend is 18 with their license. There is a curfew of 10 PM too-my son never had much problem as he usually only drove to school and work and did so much more at 18 anyway than 16 years. You are required to do so many hours with driving school and instructor and such-these classes will teach you all this info

It actually is 16. It is illegal to drive with more people in a car if you are below like 19.
