Question:

Is the liquid inside lighters called lighter fuel?

If you search fireball on youtube, it shows you how to make fireballs. And one thing i need is lighter fuel but i dont have any. Can I break open a regular cig lighter and you that in place of lighter fuel? arent they the same thing?

  1. If you don't know how to find lighter fuel, you are too young to be playing with flammable liquids or explosives.  (It's in every tobacco shop, but I guess they won't let you into those.)


  2. NO,no,no.

    Lighter- FLUID- not fuel. Its made from naptha-the same thing gasoline is made from.

    The liquid inside todays lighters is butane-very explosive.

    Do not break open a lighter. The butane inside will evaporate quickly--if there is a spark near by- it may explode.

    The older fluid/flint lighters had naptha that you could refill yourself.  

  3. Lighter fuels are either naptha or liquid butane.

  4. I don't know I would think so but I'm not the brightest cookie in the bunch.
