  1. To be honest is not the best area in Rome, but I wouldn't exaggerate , yes is not an area to go out with your wallet open, but if you bear in mind to take care of your stuff you will be ok.

Have a nice Holiday in Italy

  2. is less safe than stay near the Spanish Steps, but is I can't really say that is not a safe place to stay.

    ciao

  3. Treat any big city in Italy as you would a big city in the US.  In NYC you would do the same- keep your bag close to you, carry your wallet in your front pocket, be aware of your surroundings.

I have been to Rome many times and have always felt comfortable and safe.  I was cautious and careful and everything was fine.

  4. nope

  5. I just returned from Rome. I stayed  at a hotel near the Termini station . It was a 5-7 minute walk from the station. We really liked the area that we stayed in ; near metro, station, etc.  Here is the address and name of the hotel. We actually stayed in an apartment run by the hotel. It was fantastic. I found this hotel on Expedia. How many days will you be staying in Rome? This hotel has a safe in every room to store your personal documents and important things.

A good thing to always remember no matter where you go, to always be aware of your surroundings, carry your personal documents, if you have to, in a moneybelt  that is hidden in your pants. Your wife should not carry her purse over her shoulder, or your backpack on your back , but  carry them in front . She needs to carry her purse across her body. You should not carry your wallet in your back pocket, carry it in a shirt pocket or  keep all your cash in your moneybelt and carry only a small amoount of cash in your front shirt pocket. Be sure that your shirt pocket has a button closure on it as well. If you carry your money in your front pants pocket be sure it has a zipper.  DO NOT PUT YOUR WALLET IN ONE OF THOSE CARGO PANTS POCKETS, all they have to do is brush by and before you know it, it is gone.

A reminder if you visit St. Peters, shorts and tank tops/bare shoulders, etc are not allowed. You will be turned away. Dress appropriately; skirt, blouse,  pants and a polo shirt

Take the sighseeing bus  Bus 110 if you want to cover a lot in a short time. It is a hop on /hop off all day bus. The cost is 16 euros a day.  You can purchases the tickets at the booth near the  city bus terminal.  Ask the clerk at the ticket booth where the stop is to pick it up near the station.

How many days will you be in Venice? The same things apply in regards to your surroundings.

If you need any other help, send me a message.

  6. NY , LA , WDC , MIAMI , CHICAGO...ecc...ecc...

    are safe cityes???

if you think yes...also Rome is safe!

  7. No, it's not a very safe place to stay, to be honest. It's not like people are walking around with guns etc....BUT I lived in Rome for 5 years and know the area very well and in that same area in the middle of the afternoon with my wife (shes from Rome) we were walking down the sidewalk and a teenager grabbed her purse and ran, but he couldnt get the purse off her shoulder. This is in the daytime.

Like many big cities the main train depot/terminal is the place that attracts less than desirable people to be around - thats just a fact.

Try to get a place around Piazza Barberini or Piazza Repubblica. Try to stay North, North West, etc of Termini and  NOT around the area of Train Station Vitorrio Emanuele.

    Hope this helps.
