Is the location of Rue de Vaugirard just nice?

I need someone who knows this street very well. Someone who has either stayed there or has lived/is living there

I am living in Novotel Paris Vaugirard (257, Rue de Vaugirard) and it is located approx 100 meters from Metro Vaugirard

I was supposed to stay in Novotel Les Halles instead but made a mistake in my booking

What do you think? Is Hotel A (Vaugirard) or hotel B (Les Halles) better in terms of location and safety?

we're going there for 4 days 3 nights (1st - 5th June)

Places we are going to visit

- Louvre Museum (Day 1)

- Notre Dame, Champs-Elysees (Day 2)

- Disneyland Paris & a few other places (Day 3)- Rue de Rivoli, Eiffel Tower (Day 4)

something like that. it's just a rough overview

  1. I second the people who tell you that it's safer than Les Halles. Not that the latter is especially dangerous, mind you, but I've never been a fan of that particular shopping complex anyway, and some antagonistic teenagers who don't know what to do with themselves tend to congregate there. The rue de Vaugirard is far quieter in every sense of the word by comparison. It's mostly known for being the longest street in Paris- stretching from the center of the city all the way to the Porte de Versailles area. I used to work on the rue de Vaugirard- métro line 12 northbound (direction: Porte de la Chapelle) gets you to the center of the city quickly, and provides plenty of access to other lines. At Pasteur station you can take line 6 to  Charles de Gaulle Étoile (to visit the Champs-Elysées) or Bir-Hakeim (to visit the Eiffel Tower), at Montparnasse Bienvenüe you can take lines 4, 6, or 13 (line 4 being especially useful- it's the major north/south line, and you can take it to beautiful areas like Saint-Michel and Cité). Oh, and line 12 itself takes you right to places like Madeleine and Concorde, both of which are recommended. (And both of which provide access to other métro lines, to boost.) Lastly, take line 12 to Abbesses and then either take the funicular or walk the steps up to Montmartre. Enjoy your trip- I'm sure you will.

  2. Novotel Vaugirard is fine. My company puts out-of-town colleagues there all the time with no complaints. The neighborhood is safer than Les Halles, but somewhat boring and less centrally located. The Metro is fast and efficient, though, so you won't lose too much time.

  3. vaugirard it's ok, near metro, safer than les halles especially at night.

anyway, with the metro you're whatever you want in a second in paris !
