  1. You can't win if you don't play.

If you think of it purely as discretionary "entertainment" money that you can well afford to lose, then sure it might be worth playing for fun.  I've won a few small prizes before and was able to go out to dinner on them, and once I won enough to cover the cost of one of my three hotel nights on a Reno trip.

    But never bet your future on winning, even on a small scale.  I've known people who have gone to Vegas expecting to "win back" the cost of their trip, only to be out twice what they thought they could afford to spend.

    Just keep the attitude of play to lose, and hope to win.  If that's fun for you and won't create financial hardship, sure.
