Is the lumineferous ether the same as the Aether.?

  1. Yes. Prior to the advent of general relativity many scientist would insert the concept of an Aether into their theories, (which was simply a transmission medium) to explain many unknown properties in physics like Capacitance.

    While this was the most remembered use of the concept there were other applications of an Aether, Ether in physics.
