Is the main reason Tony Stewart is leaving JGR because they switched to Toyota?

I had read somewhere that he would drive for Haas as one of his options- which is supported by HMS and he would be back in the Chevrolets. He was'nt too happy when they made the switch. I'm hoping he keeps Home Depot as a sponsor if he leaves - btw....

I think that is a very big part of it. Tony is also getting to the point where he won't be racing a whole lot longer so ownership will be his way to stay in the sport. Kyle Busch has had no effect on it whatsoever.

The rumor now is him and JR Motorsports with Bass Pro Shops as a sponsor. He wants to leave becasue GM backed him his whole career and backs his dirt team so he wantes to run for them. I can't say I blame him. This is going to be the craziest silly season yet.

Anyway, Tony has never said he was leaving JGR, and until he does, it's all just speculation and rumors.

I don't think so. Maybe at first, but Toyota has been good to Gibbs, and Gibbs for Toyota.

Tony's thinking long term. He has to be, cuz if he goes to Haas, it could be a rough year while he tries to make them competitive.

No way he's going to Hendrick, but Haas is close as a "satellite" for HMS.

I think so.  It's certainly not because JGR isn't competitive.  Chevy still supports all of his dirt racing teams and he has always appreciated that.  Haven't you seen the Armorall commercial where he is mesmerized by the beautiful Corvette? LOL  The other reason is that he is looking to the future and possible ownership.

Well all that is said is sad.  Most everyone will revere their standards of cars as being American made.  Horse marlarky, Chevy is built by Tequila mangos, and Ford by Canucks, Dodge is being built elsewares as well.   At least Toyota has a Kentucky plant building the Camery.

i feel tony has the drive to win..but he downst want to win in a toyota...im a ford fan so i would like to see ford win but tony seems tied to chevy..thats cool i think he needs to drive the 5 car and make hendricks  a major powerhouse(though it is now anyway) put mears in the 38 and gilliand in the 20 and see wht he can do with good equipment..makes all the diff

W.T.F. is stewart crying for anyway. i understand brand loyalty, but kyle busch certainly doesnt seem to be having an issue winning in the camry.or the tundra. maybe smoke just needs to get on his game a little more. but then again, its always easier to blame someone or something else when you come up short...............

I wasn't happy when Gibbs went with Toyota. But Gibbs Has made them fast. That's what a class owner with money can do. I have been a Stewart fan for a long time. He has been racing for 27 yrs. He love racing. He is tring to get Sprint car racing big again. He owns Chevy powered sprint cars, So maybe Chevy is going to give him help. If he leaves Gibbs for Haas racing. He is differently looking down the road. If he leaves and builds a new team. Drivers will be moving all over the place. If I was him I wouldn't do it unless Home Depot goes with him...

No! Besides Joe Gibbs asked his drivers what they thought about switching to Toyota and if they wanted to or not. If Tony did not want to move to Toyota Joe Gibbs would have never of switched! And Tony NEVER said he was leaving. He said he was exploring his options!

i was in home depot they got a big painting of the #20 car and theres no emblem above the grill iam allmost positive it used to have a chevy emblem before they went forign. iam a dodge fan ,and i shop at lowes now. they got a chevy emblem.
