Is the math class "statistics" hard?

I'm thinking about jumping from math 65 to statistics to get my degree sooner. Will I need to know all that other stuff in between in order to take it and still get an A?

  1. Yes, it's a little hard, but not as hard as college algebra.

Stats is good for a business degree or also a social science or teaching degree.

    Take care,

    David

  2. Yes it is hard.

The mathmatic theory behind statistical analysis is much more in depth than just trying to figure out what percentage is 11 out of 19.

I would recommend atleast one calculus class before attempting statistics.

  3. You will definitely need algebra, and it will help if you understand product and summation notation (i.e math problems that use stuff like the ∑ symbol).  Depending on who the instructor is, and whether this is a beginning or advanced statistics class should also factor into your decision.  If you are good at math, and algebra, and are willing to put in some work, you can probably do it.
