Well I know people like some of the receptionists and zoning officer live in different municipalities who work in our city, so I am wondering if for the mayor you would have to at least live in the same city.

  1. Typically, Elected officials are required to live in the area, district that they represent.

Civil Servants, such as receptionists and zoning officers do not fall under any such obligations. They can live wherever they choose.

  2. In my city a City Counsel Member must live in the part of the city they represent.
