Is it time for the ICC, the whole cricketing world, and indeed the world in general to stop burying their hands in the sand over this issue?

  1. Nah.

The most bad decisions the ICC has made is reinstating Umpire Darall Hair & giving the Bengladesh Test Status.

  2. Peter Roebuck is right. The ICC has now become impotent  They toleate this tyranny and dooesn't take any action.

Its appaling to know how even the ICC is ruled by Chingoka and such authoritarian leaders like Mugabe.

The icc let themselves be pampered and pleased by them and turn a deaf ear to the real issues which need to be addressed. Its sad how even after millions of dollars have been given to ZCU, nothing is done to reinstate the grounds or the conditions of the players.

It is true that Zimbabwean cricket now refelcts the misrule and terror regime of Mugabe.

It is indeed high time that the whole world stops being smug and do something about it.

But i wonder whether it will ever happen.........

  3. Sarah N, you humanitarian you! So you put Darrell Hair's one eyed approach to cricket over human lives? God help your country whatever it is if all your people think like you. Everything else pales in comparison with this issue. I think the whole world condemns Mugabe's filthy regime & would wish him dead.ICC have a duty to the rest of the sporting world to shut Zimbabwe out of international cricket. I feel sad for the innocent people there, but i'm sure they would understand if ICC went ahead with this. The sooner the murderous Mugabe is gone, the sooner Zimbabwe can get back into cricket.

  4. Do the ICC ever handle anything properly?

  5. ICC should've taken this into notice when the players like Neil Johnson, Marrey Goodwin left . I still remember the 1999 world cup, Zim was a seriosly a good team then, I had just became a cricket fan at that time & Zim was my 2nd fav. after India. Players like Flower brothers, Henry Olonga  & my favourite Heath Streak, they were world class & the mismanagement was showing when cricket was losing these greats, I was like 11-12 years of age that time when I could see that something was happening wrong but ICC couldn't see or they just pretended that they were not able to spot out the trouble, ended up becoming a crisis & see the condition now-Zimbabwe are out of test matches & below Bangladesh and Ireland in ODIs which I think they could've been world beaters had they saved their talent & avoided the corruption in the board. Andy Flower & Henry Olonga openly protested during the 2003 world cup & teams refused to play in Zim , Instead of taking any observation of the situation, ICC gave away victories to the team for matches refused in their country. What a shame, I really feel sorry for Zimbabwe cricket.

  6. No teams should travel to Zimbabwe, and Zimbabwe should not be allowed to play in any other country, until the problems there are sorted out.

  7. Yes I completely agree.

EDIT: your statement should read "burying their heads in the sand" as the correct metaphor.

  8. No its just the latest in a long line. That's not to say it doesn't need dealing with though.

The ICC cannot organise a half decent world cup tournament. The ICC reinstated Darrell Hair, the ICC bowed down to the Indians in January and lessened the penalties on them. The ICC decided that the ICL was not good enough for them but they still wanted to cash in, so created the IPL.
