  1. That's a myth that's really a myth.  I, personally, have seen peafowl mate.  They mate like all other birds, with the male climbing up onto the back of the female.  It only takes a quick second and it's done.  The Peacock, also like all other birds,  does NOT have a p***s.  They just put their cloacas (single opening for f***s, uric acid, and mating) together and he instantly injects sperm inside her.

  2. Absolutely NO.

  3. myth as the male attracts the hen with his tail display, hen is mesmerised by the many eyes and the mail lowers his tail over her as they mate. Both birds covered but hen is held in place by hypnotic wall of feather eyes.

  4. Absolutely not, it is a myth.

  5. No.

  6. That is a myth. Think about it logically - for the male's sperm to come out in his tears, his testes would have to be connected to his eyes. Next, if the female acquired them by drinking these tears, her reproductive system would have to be linked to her digestive system in order for the sperm to reach the eggs. All of which, I'm sure you'll agree, is extremely unlikely.

Peafowl mate by the male mounting the female from behind and pressing his cloaca against hers (the cloaca is the single opening birds use to mate, excrete and lay eggs). His sperm is squirted into her, and swims up her reproductive tract to her eggs.

In response to BWANA's answer, whilst it is true that most birds do not have a p***s, some do - ostriches, ducks and buffalo weavers are examples.

  7. Total myth.
