I know the Earth climate changes at regular intervals or cycles but, does the Earth always end up returning to normal despite man’s evolvement.

  1. That is an interesting question

and very pertinant to our place in history

    To some extent

in order to answer your question correctly

it is necessary to consider what time frames you are asking about

    the earth is a planet

circling around a 3rd generation star

that is important to your question

    beause

if we were to rewind time

and have the earth circling a 1st generation star

we would not have the same building blocks

    or atoms availble

    either for life

or for the constitiuents of the atmosphere

    Since we

    are n the earth

    surrounding the sun

we have the the composition of atoms

that have consolidated from the star dust

    of supernova explosions

including carbon and heavy metals etc

It is also important in yyour question

    to realise that the sun

    is relatively small

    and ageing

    that means that

ver the 5 billion years of it's existance

    the earth has been evolving

    and adapting

    to a changing solar influx

    in fact

    the sun is getting larger

    and sending more heat

    to the earth

So over the past few billion years

the sun has been working to heat up the worlds atmosphere

    Now

there is an interesting theory proposed by

    Lyall Watson

    called the Ghia theory

    it says

that  you can think of the earth as aa living organism

that has the ability to regulate

    many of it's basic features

one of which is global temperature

    it does this

    through living organism

the living organisms through the interaction with the abiotic environment

create mechanism to keep the planet at a point of dynamic equilibrium

Over the past few 10s of millions of years

the earth has been covered repeatedly by very lush vewgetation

that has removed carbon dioxide from the atmosphere

and ultimately deposited it as coal

    During long periods of time

the earth has experienced long periods of glacition

    Right now

    with the liberation

of vast amounts of carbon dioxide

    we

    as a species

    are reversing this trend

and pushing the balance more towards

    a warmer climate

I am not convinced that this is a bad thing

  2. I think this is the first time the human race has affected the natural environment on a global scale, and I believe that the

answer is no. The world's ecosystem is proving to be more delicate than previously believed.

  3. theoretically, yes..

but this is the first time in natural history that man get involved that much and introduce huge amounts of pollutants to the environment, deplete resources, overpopulation, etc..

to answer your question, i think that nature always find a way to balance, but the thing is, if we didn't choose it with our own will, nature will do it for us (through famine, desertification, etc)

May be Earth would return to its normal state but what time span should it take to do that, is not very clear..

  4. Over millions of years the earth has undergone a series of cyclical geological and environmental changes that progress from violent (in it's early development) to what is now a relatively stable environment to support life in various forms (over millions of years). The planet at any given point in time does have a state of equilibrium for the phase that the planet is in at that time. Yet there are constant changes occurring that are usually so subtle that they are almost un-noticeable. That is until the relatively recent consumption of fossil energies. Over the extremely long periods of time that the earth does change, humans will have a relatively minuscule effect. Lets hope that we either get effectively smarter or that any changes we do will not spell our demise.
