Also that after "Hmm" a single comma would have sufficed rather than three full stops.

If you use "Hmm" yourself it asks you to correct it too!

I'm finding the whole thing rather Orwellian.

Second, IT WAS MEANT TO BE A JOKE!!! You obviously didn't get it, because you are excrutiatingly overanalyzing it, as if they aren't even aware that they included superfulous puncuation and a "Hmm".
