  1. Its a con anyway. Only well to do people would take advantage of it. It shows how taxpayers money is used to help the better off. I mean how can a poor working class person find $1200.00 up front?

  2. I think the GI bill is not generous enough. Since we have an all volunteer military, I think the benefits should increase in generousity the longer a person serves on active duty, with full benefits available to everyone after eight years, e.g., four years of college tuition, fees & books at a community college and/or state university as an in-state student.

  3. Never heard of it. This is the UK/Ireland site.

  4. Ron Paul '08!

  5. It is an excellent use of tax dollars! Our service members have had long deployments, are paid a low salary when you consider they work far more than 40 hours a week...12-16 hours a day, 7 days a week during deployments.

When their enlistment is up, a college education allows them to get a job paying more than $5,85 an hour.

There is not much call for infantry and tank repair in the civilian sector.

  6. Nothing is too good for our Vets.

It is estimated that the first GI bill returned $10 to the country's economy for every $1 spent, so it's proven that helping our Vets pays huge dividends for the nation.
