I first got shingles when I was 54 years old and I contacted my doctor and even though I'n under 60 he will approve. My insurance will help pay with Dr's approval.

  1. Yes it's safe to take.  Much safer than getting shingles.  The most common side effects are itching, swelling, and redness at the injection site.  Other side effects are generally mild and pretty rare.  Of course, this is a question best answered by your doctor.
