  1. The new 80GB PS3 is the same as the 40GB but has a bigger HDD. There is no backwards compatibly.

  2. No it cannot play ps2 games.

  3. nope. it can only play ps3 games

  4. It's the same old 40GB with a larger HDD. No PS2 games as well.

  5. Ok.

    Some People are right,

The New 80gb PS3 is the old 40gb PS3, but with 80gb of HDD.

Which means No PS2 games,No flash card readers and 2 usb ports, the same thing goes for the 160gb PS3 that is coming out

All PS3s can play PS1 games.

  6. I believe all the models are backwards compatible, though I have heard that several games and systems have had problems with playing PS1 and PS2 games.

  7. I think all the models are except the 40GB. Or mabey it's something else.

  8. The 80 has BAD backward compatibility. (Software emulator)

    60MB was the best.

OH, the NEW 80gb, yeah, no compatibility.

    Sony ripping people off again.

  9. No, it can only play ps1 games.

The OLD 80 was the best for ps2 games. Emulation means that it makes the ps3 act like a ps2 when it is playing a ps2 game. The only problem is that it was/is not a ps2, so it did not work perfectly. The only problem I had was that some of the back ground graphics would not load during load screens. It would still load, but you had a black screen to look at while it loaded.
